Trump Proclaims November 1-7 as Anti-Communism Week: The United States Will Never Become a Communist Country

The White House on November 3 issued a presidential proclamation in which President Donald J. Trump, signing in Washington that day, proclaimed November 1 through November 7, 2026, as Anti-Communism Week, honoring the victims of socialism and communism and calling on all Americans to stand firm in defense of the American way of life.
The proclamation says that for more than a century, human freedom has been threatened by communist and socialist ideologies that eliminate individual opportunity, subjugate individuals to the state, and extinguish the God-given rights upon which free nations are built. It says state control over human thought, creativity, and political expression has resulted in suffering, poverty, exploitation, violence, and misery for millions, and it renews the commitment to protect the sacred values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness from the chains of tyranny.
The proclamation says the Republic was founded on the enduring conviction that rights are inherent, liberties are sacred, and the Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, principles that have defined the national character for over 250 years. It says the American experiment today faces renewed threats as socialist, communist, and radical leftist ideologies find increased expression in the nation, and that Americans must remain vigilant so the lessons of history are never forgotten or repeated. "Under my leadership, America will never fall victim to these evil ideologies, and the United States will never become a communist country," the President wrote.
The proclamation says the story of America is above all the story of a nation uniting as one, standing up to tyranny, and charting its own destiny as a free and self-governing republic, and that as President he will always protect the founding principles for which so many fought and died, defending the Constitution, upholding the dignity of every individual, and strengthening the free market.
In its operative paragraph, the President proclaimed the week of November 1 through November 7 as Anti-Communism Week and called upon all Americans to stand firm in their defense against any threat to the American way of life and to protect the flame of liberty from the darkness of communism. The proclamation is dated the third day of November 2026, in the 251st year of the independence of the United States.
