Novak Djokovic rallied to beat Basel champion Valentin Vacherot 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-1 in two hours and 35 minutes at the Paris Masters on November 3, becoming the oldest match winner in the tournament's history at 39.

Vacherot, riding a five-match winning streak after his Basel title, took the first-set tiebreak with four straight points. Djokovic received a medical timeout for his shoulder in the second set before raising his level, finishing with 27 winners and saving six of the seven break points he faced.

The seven-time Paris champion sits 11th in the race to the ATP Finals and will face Hijikata in the next round.

In other matches on the day, Ben Shelton beat Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-4, and Casper Ruud defeated Jodar 6-3, 6-4.
