'Full House' Stars Candace Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger Reunite Over Dinner: 'No Waffles on This Menu!'
American actors Candace Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger posted a joint Instagram update on November 4 showing the two at a restaurant, studying a menu together over dinner. The pair played sweethearts D.J. Tanner and Steve Hale on the sitcom Full House, and the photos were covered the same day by EntertainmentNow and Parade, drawing a wave of nostalgic comments from longtime viewers.
In the photos, Bure, 50, wears a gray sweater and oversized glasses as she leans toward Weinger, 51, who wears a dark shirt with his arm around her. The pair captioned the post: 'No waffles on this menu!' The update also included screenshots of a Full House scene in which D.J. and Steve eat waffles together in the Tanner kitchen, with Steve saying: 'Brutal. This waffle tastes like a roofing tile.' Weinger added in a comment: 'From letterman jacket to reading glasses, we still got it.'
Bure and Weinger starred together from 1991 to 1995 in the later seasons of Full House, which ran from 1987 to 1995; Steve was known for his enormous appetite and for helping himself to food at the Tanner house, the running joke behind the waffle caption. Their characters later married in a triple wedding in the finale of Netflix's Fuller House, which ran from 2016 to 2020. According to EntertainmentNow, no new Full House revival has been announced, and the dinner was a social get-together between old friends.
The outing came just weeks after the two last appeared together in public: in October, they reunited with fellow Full House cast members including John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin and Dave Coulier at the '90s Con fan event in Connecticut. Fans commented 'DJ & Steve reunited!' and 'Steejay are back together!,' with some also wishing for another cast reunion project.
