New Hampshire's 2nd District: Goodlander Wins Reelection as Chinese-American Challenger Lily Tang Williams Falls Short Again

In New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Maggie Goodlander won reelection on November 3, defeating Republican challenger Lily Tang Williams, a Chinese-American candidate, the Associated Press declared. With 165 of 198 precincts reporting (83.33%) at the time of the update, Goodlander had 169,202 votes to Williams's 109,106, with independent Robbie Mahrou at 6,586; later counts put Goodlander at about 59% to 61%. Williams, a Chinese immigrant who has run for federal office several times, was challenging Goodlander in a rematch and again fell short. Goodlander will continue representing western and northern New Hampshire in Congress.
Elsewhere in the state, Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas defeated former Republican Sen. John Sununu to win the U.S. Senate seat, and Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte won reelection over Democrat Cinde Warmington. All election-night figures are unofficial until certified.
