Follow-up: More Than 10,000 Customers Lose Power Around Puget Sound as Saturday-Night Winds Bring Tree Limbs Down on Wires

Saturday, November 7, 2026 · States · GSM News

Seattle — More than 10,000 Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers lost power around Washington state's Puget Sound region on Saturday evening, November 7, as a strong windstorm swept across western Washington. According to PSE's outage map, the outages were concentrated on the west side of Silverdale in Kitsap County and near Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, with about 1,000 customers also out on the north end of Bainbridge Island.

PSE said the largest outage area, in Central Kitsap west of Highway 3 between Wildcat Lake and the Bangor base, was caused by tree limbs falling on wires. Scattered outages were also reported from South Kitsap to the Hood Canal Bridge. PSE estimated that power in some areas could be restored later Saturday night.

A National Weather Service wind advisory for the Puget Sound region runs until 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, with gusts up to 50 mph and heavy rain soaking the area; the chance of rain drops sharply on Sunday. GSM reported earlier Saturday that a high wind watch was in effect for the Washington coast, with gusts possibly topping 58 mph, and local weather observations put the peak gust at Hoquiam on the Pacific coast at 69 mph on Saturday afternoon and evening.

PSE said repair crews would work through the areas listed on its outage map, and a full restoration time had not been announced. (Source: Puget Sound Energy)
