Cardinals Confirm Brissett Trade to Ravens as Minshew Takes Over as Starting Quarterback
Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed on November 4 that the team, based in Arizona's Maricopa County metropolitan area, is finalizing a deal to trade quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens, aiming to complete it in the next few days. LaFleur said that because Baltimore plays on Thursday Night Football on November 5, the trade will likely be finalized after that game, giving Brissett 10 days to learn the new playbook before his first start.
Brissett's tenure in Arizona ends after 20 starts; he won the starting job over Kyler Murray in November 2025. Two days earlier, LaFleur announced Gardner Minshew would start, demoting Brissett to third string, and the trade follows that move. The trade compensation is not yet clear, and the Cardinals worked out quarterback Carter Bradley on November 3.
Baltimore lost its top two quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson, who broke his right thumb, and Tyler Huntley, for an extended period in last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills. For Arizona, Minshew will continue as starter, with third-round rookie Carson Beck elevated to backup.
