U.S. Marshals Arrest Massachusetts Fugitive Wanted for Assault to Murder in Hartford

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Marshals Service districts of Massachusetts and Connecticut announced on November 4 the arrest of a Massachusetts fugitive in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 3. The man arrested is Sanedlly Santana, 26, wanted in connection with a stabbing during a fight at a local bar in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on October 10, in which a male victim was stabbed in the chest and a female victim was stabbed in the neck; both victims were taken to a local hospital and survived. On October 13, an arrest warrant was issued for Santana out of the New Bedford District Court on charges including assault to murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Investigators with the Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force developed information that Santana was in Connecticut, and members of the District of Connecticut Fugitive Task Force arrested him in Hartford without incident. Santana is being held in Connecticut on a fugitive-from-justice charge and awaits extradition to Massachusetts to face the charges in New Bedford District Court. The Marshals Service notes that criminal charges are allegations and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
