Sacramento County Publicly Selects Precincts for Manual Tally: 8 of 719 Precincts Drawn for Recheck

Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections, in Sacramento County, California, conducted a public random selection at 10 a.m. on November 4 to choose precincts and ballot batches for the one percent manual tally required for the November 3, 2026, General Election. The selection took place at the Elections Office at 7000 65th Street in Sacramento and was open to the public. According to the county's release, eight precincts will be selected from the county's total of 719 precincts for a manual tally of Vote Center ballots, and randomly selected Vote by Mail tabulation batches equal to at least one percent of the total will also be tallied by hand. The manual tally itself will begin at 9 a.m. on November 12. Both the public random selection and the manual tally are open to the public and media for observation.
Counting for the general election continues in Sacramento County. The county reminds residents that final results are subject to official certification.
