Saints Rookie Jordyn Tyson Returns to Practice, Eyeing His NFL Debut

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

The New Orleans Saints, in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, received a major boost on November 4: rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, the eighth overall pick in this year's draft, returned to practice, and the team designated him to return from injured reserve, opening his 21-day practice window.

Tyson, a former Arizona State star selected eighth overall by the Saints in the 2026 NFL Draft, suffered a Grade 2 right hamstring strain during a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 13 and began the season on injured reserve, missing the team's first seven games. He returned to the practice field for the first time on November 4; head coach Kellen Moore had said the team was working through the decision on opening the return window.

New Orleans is 2-5, but the NFC South remains competitive and the Saints still have playoff hopes. Tyson's return would give quarterback Tyler Shough's offense an important outside weapon. Opening the practice window does not guarantee Tyson will play this week against the Cleveland Browns; the team can activate him to the roster at any point within the 21 days. The Saints host the Browns on November 8, and fans are eager to see the rookie's NFL debut.
