Han Zheng to Attend Climate Summit in Antalya, Türkiye, and Visit Georgia
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on November 4, 2026, that Han Zheng, Vice President of China and special representative of President Xi Jinping, will travel to Türkiye from November 6 to 12 to attend the Antalya Leaders' Summit of the 31st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and will also visit Georgia.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at the day's regular press briefing that COP31 will be held in Antalya, Türkiye, and that Vice President Han Zheng, as President Xi Jinping's special representative, will attend the Antalya summit and, together with leaders of other countries, provide political guidance for the conference. She said the Paris Agreement enters its second decade this year, and the conference will focus on how to strengthen implementation, accelerate action and promote cooperation in the new decade; China is ready to work with all parties to firmly uphold multilateralism, fully implement the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, strengthen practical climate action, and help the conference succeed.
On the visit to Georgia, Mao Ning said China and Georgia are comprehensive strategic partners, and that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, China-Georgia relations have developed rapidly in recent years with fruitful cooperation across fields. During the visit, Vice President Han Zheng will exchange views with Georgian leaders on bilateral relations and issues of common concern, and China is ready to fully implement the important consensus of the two leaders, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and keep China-Georgia relations moving forward.
