Tavares Shelter Offers $7 Senior Pet Adoptions in November: Spay/Neuter, Vaccines and Microchip Included for Pets 7 and Older
The Lake County Animal Shelter in Tavares, Lake County, Florida, has announced its “Fall in Love with a Senior Pet” promotion: throughout November, adoption fees for all pets 7 years and older are just $7, in recognition of National Adopt a Senior Pet Month.
The $7 fee includes spay or neuter surgery, initial vaccinations, a microchip and a personalized identification tag. By comparison, the shelter's regular adoption prices are $20 per dog and $10 per cat, with cats always buy-one-get-one-free.
“Senior pets have so much love left to give, and they deserve the chance to spend their golden years in a loving home,” said Whitney Boylston, Director of Lake County Animal Services.
Optional adoption counseling is available from 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; the shelter is closed on Wednesdays and holidays, and adopters must be 18 or older. The shelter is located at 12280 County Road 448, Tavares, FL 32778, phone 352-343-9688, and available pets can be viewed on the Lake County government website.
