Three House Committee Chairs Ask Nvidia's Jensen Huang to Give a Closed-Door Briefing on November 18 on His Contacts With Alice Huang

Washington — House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast, Select Committee on China Chairman John Moolenaar and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford wrote jointly to Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang on November 4, asking him to appear on November 18 for a joint closed-door briefing to their three committees on his interactions with Alice Huang (Huang Le), an executive at Singapore-based data-center firm Megaspeed, and on Nvidia's security protocols against foreign adversary espionage. The committees released the letter on November 5.

The chairmen asked Huang to accept the date by November 11 or propose an alternative. The letter is a request for a voluntary briefing, not a subpoena. It says recent reports raise significant national security concerns regarding China's access to sensitive U.S. technology and information, and that it is vital Congress determine the extent to which U.S. national security has been placed at risk.

The request follows an October 29 New York Times report in which U.S. intelligence agencies were said to have concluded that Alice Huang was passing information to Beijing, with electronic surveillance showing contact between her and Jensen Huang. The Times reported that Megaspeed affiliates purchased at least $4.8 billion in Nvidia AI equipment between June 2024 and February 2026, while the company was already under investigation for suspected chip diversion to China. Neither Alice Huang nor Megaspeed has been charged with any crime, and the report could not establish what information she may have passed or its value.

Nvidia has rejected the spying claims, saying Huang's contacts with Alice Huang were limited to ordinary business information. As of November 5–6, Nvidia had not confirmed whether Huang would attend. Nvidia is scheduled to report quarterly earnings on November 17, the day before the requested briefing.
