Team Kentucky Food Drive Opens to Public Donations Through November 18

Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · States · GSM News

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced in Frankfort on November 4 that the second annual Team Kentucky Food Drive, launched on November 1 for state employees, is now open to public donations through Wednesday, November 18. Donations of non-perishable food will be distributed through Feeding Kentucky, which serves all 120 counties through 900 partner food pantries, as well as the Christian Appalachian Project and the Capital City Activity Center.

The public can drop off items on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST at 1239 Wilkinson Blvd. in Frankfort, a drive-through drop-off location. State employees can use donation boxes in the lobbies of major state office buildings in Frankfort and the L&N Building in Louisville, or the same drive-through site. The first Team Kentucky Food Drive, held in November 2025, collected over 12,000 items to help families in need during the holiday season.

"As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, Team Kentucky is committed to being there for those in need. Through this food drive and the generosity and kindness of our people, we can make sure our neighbors have enough food on the table as we work together to fight hunger," Beshear said. His office said the administration has made fighting hunger a priority, including doubling weekly senior-meals production during the pandemic, clearing the program's waitlist, and launching programs that feed students over summer break.
