NYC Veterans Day Parade Returns November 11: Astronaut Sunita Williams Leads 107th March Up Fifth Avenue

The 107th New York City Veterans Day Parade will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Produced by the United War Veterans Council (UWVC), it is the nation's largest Veterans Day commemoration, and this year's parade marks the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
The parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. from Fifth Avenue at 26th Street and marches north up Fifth Avenue. Before the parade, the annual wreath-laying ceremony takes place at 10:55 a.m. in Madison Square Park, with wreaths presented by veteran representatives, public officials, foreign allies and senior military leaders.
This year's Grand Marshal is Sunita “Suni” L. Williams, a retired U.S. Navy captain and NASA astronaut. According to the UWVC, Williams had previously been announced as one of three Grand Marshals for last year's parade but was unable to attend due to the 2025 government shutdown, and she now leads the march in person. The Honorary Marshal is Vicki Bello, a U.S. Navy veteran and Manager of Community and Veterans Programs for the Theatre Development Fund (TDF).
The UWVC says the parade features more than 280 marching units, more than 20,000 marchers, more than 25 floats and more than 150 vehicles, with participants from every service branch of the military, veterans, service organizations and youth cadets, as well as marching bands, motorcycles and vintage vehicles.
The parade was first held in 1919 to commemorate the armistice that ended World War I one year earlier, at exactly the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Full information is on the organizer's official site, uwvc.org. (Source: United War Veterans Council)
