Thursday, November 5, 2026 · California · GSM News

The City of Santa Monica in Los Angeles County, California, announced on November 2 that the first Swiss Winter Village will open at the Santa Monica Pier on November 18, 2026, and run through January 3, 2027, bringing a European-style holiday market to the landmark waterfront.

Organized by Fever and Swiss Xmas Inc., the village will feature craft stalls, seasonal food, live entertainment, visits with Santa and a Hanukkah celebration. In the city's announcement, Mayor Caroline Torosis highlighted raclette and ice skating among the experiences awaiting visitors at the pier.

The organizers are donating 1,000 tickets through the city's Housing and Human Services Department to local nonprofits serving underserved children and foster families, along with a $3,500 donation to Heal the Bay. Market stalls will rotate, with priority for first-time local makers.

The Santa Monica Pier is one of Southern California's best-known waterfront landmarks. The city said the winter village forms part of the pier's holiday-season programming, with further details to be announced by the organizers.
