$2.7 Million Emergency Project on I-10 at Whitewater: Westbound Slow Lane Closed Daytime Through Friday
According to City News Service, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) crews are carrying out a $2.7 million emergency project on westbound Interstate 10 at Whitewater in Riverside County, California, removing sediment and debris from a slope suffering severe erosion. The work is being performed under the governor's emergency orders, with the California Highway Patrol assisting with traffic control.
The westbound No. 4 lane between the State Route 62/Interstate 10 interchange and Tipton Road is closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday for the work.
Caltrans urges drivers traveling through the San Gorgonio Pass to allow extra travel time, watch for work-zone signs, and check QuickMap for current conditions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather and field conditions.
