[Video] A24's Club Kid Opens November 6: A Party Promoter Forced Into Fatherhood After Cannes Bidding War

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · Film · GSM News

Club Kid, the A24 comedy-drama written, directed by and starring Jordan Firstman in his feature directing debut, opens in limited U.S. release on November 6. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it sparked a bidding war reportedly worth $17 million before A24 acquired it.

Firstman plays Peter Green, a washed-up New York underground party promoter whose life of clubs and bad decisions is upended when a barely remembered former partner dies, leaving him sole guardian of Arlo (Reggie Absolom), the 10-year-old son he never knew he had. Cara Delevingne plays Sophie, Peter's exasperated business partner, with Diego Calva, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Colleen Camp in supporting roles.

The film runs two hours and two minutes and is rated R. The cast walked the red carpet at Regal Union Square in New York on October 29 for the premiere. Critics have praised how the nightlife comedy opens into a tender story about responsibility and makeshift family; international rollouts, including Australia, follow in January 2027.
