Salvation Army in La Porte County Names 2026 Christmas Campaign Chairs: The Komasinskis Lead as Angel Tree Registration Runs to December 4

The Salvation Army in La Porte County, Indiana, has named lifelong county residents Monica and Dan Komasinski as chairs of its 2026 Christmas Campaign, leading this season's kettle and community fundraising. The couple will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary in 2027.
The season's Red Kettle Kick Off was held on November 2 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the McDonald's at 3507 Franklin Street in Michigan City, with the chairs formally introduced at 8 a.m. Monica Komasinski is the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce's membership director and previously served 14 years as executive director of Leadership La Porte County; Dan Komasinski is a senior director of internal audit at White Lodging Services with 35 years in the field. The local corps is led by Major Becky Simmons.
Campaign funds support The Salvation Army's year-round local programs: food assistance, case management, diapers and clothing, and youth programs. For the Christmas season, the Angel Tree program registers children for toys and families for food assistance; La Porte County residents can register at saangeltree.org through December 4.
Christmas Campaign chairs are community volunteers who front the season's public appeals and rally business and resident giving.
