Retired Admiral Nancy Lacore Flips South Carolina's 1st District, Mace Congratulates Her

Democrat Nancy Lacore, a retired Navy vice admiral, has flipped South Carolina's 1st Congressional District, defeating Republican Jenny Costa Honeycutt. Representative Nancy Mace, who gave up the seat to run for governor, congratulated Lacore on November 4.
Lacore was removed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in August 2025 from her post as Chief of Navy Reserve and campaigned on having been fired without cause. The district has been represented by Mace since 2021.
As of the afternoon of November 4 the Associated Press had not yet called the race; the State Election Commission was set to certify results on November 6. Lacore will be the first Democrat to represent the redrawn district. (Source: South Carolina State Election Commission)
