Providence Mayor-Elect Morales Names 11 Transition Co-Chairs as Handover Begins
Providence Mayor-elect David Morales has named 11 co-chairs to his transition team, the group that will help set policy goals, surface new proposals and recruit appointees to his incoming administration. The announcement was made on November 4 and reported the following day; the co-chairs held their first meeting immediately.
Among the co-chairs is Dr. Chanda Womack, executive director of the Alliance of Rhode Island Southeast Asians for Education.
Morales announced no new policies and made no commitment to hire any of the co-chairs into his administration, saying the election is over and the work of building a Providence for everyone begins now. Further public meetings and additional members are expected. (Source: Office of Mayor-elect David Morales)
