Nevada Gaming Control Board Recommends Approval of Five New Sportsbook Licenses

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · US · GSM News

The Nevada Gaming Control Board voted unanimously on November 4 to recommend approval of five new sportsbook licenses, several of them in rural areas far from the Las Vegas Strip. The final decision will be made by the Nevada Gaming Commission at its November 19 meeting.

Those recommended for approval include three William Hill locations, inside Terrible's casinos in Indian Springs, about 45 minutes northwest of Clark County's core; in the southern border town of Searchlight; and in Carlin, in northeastern Elko County. A Boomer's Sportsbook inside the Nevada Nugget casino in Dayton was also recommended for approval, as was Boomer's second location, inside the Delta Saloon in Virginia City. The board said all applicants have passed background and financial reviews.

Sports betting continues to expand into Nevada's smaller towns. Industry observers note that once the new licenses are approved, drivers heading along Highway 95 toward Indian Springs and the Mount Charleston area, or south toward Searchlight, Laughlin and Lake Mohave, will have more legal betting options. The board stressed that all new sportsbooks must comply with state gaming regulations and undergo regular inspections.
