Rhode Island overdose deaths down 50% since 2022 as CODE Summit convenes in Warwick
Rhode Island's 2026 CODE Summit on overdose prevention convened on November 5 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, hosted by the Governor's Overdose Task Force, and the state Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) released the latest figures.
Fatal overdoses in Rhode Island in 2025 were down 50% from 2022, the third straight yearly decrease and the lowest level since 2012. The CODE summits began in 2017, and all 39 of the state's cities and towns take part.
