Saint Louis star Robbie Avila granted preliminary injunction for a fifth season; set to play Missouri on November 6

Saint Louis University basketball star Robbie Avila's eligibility took a turn on November 5, when St. Louis Circuit Judge Jason Sengheiser granted a preliminary injunction allowing him to play a fifth season; the team may also temporarily exceed the 15-player roster limit until trial.
Head coach Josh Schertz confirmed the same day that Avila will play on November 6 against Missouri. The 6-foot-10 Avila is the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, having averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season, and he played for the Los Angeles Lakers in Summer League this year.
Avila sued the NCAA in September seeking a fifth year of eligibility and has enrolled in graduate courses at Saint Louis. A trial in the case may not take place until after the season. (Source: St. Louis Circuit Court)
