Three Detroit Tigers named 2026 Silver Slugger finalists; winners to be announced November 17
Three Detroit Tigers were named finalists for the 2026 Silver Slugger Awards on November 5: shortstop Kevin McGonigle, outfielder Riley Greene and catcher Dillon Dingler. The Silver Slugger honors the best offensive player at each position in each league; winners will be announced on November 17.
McGonigle hit .278 with 18 home runs and 72 RBIs, and is also a finalist at the utility position. Greene hit .280 with 21 home runs and 75 RBIs. Dingler hit 27 home runs with 91 RBIs and a .243 average.
Silver Slugger winners are chosen by votes of each team's manager and coaching staff; three finalists in one year is a rare haul for the Tigers in recent seasons. (Source: Major League Baseball)
