CFTC Staff Addresses Use of Trust Companies for Daily Settlements in No-Action Letter 26-30

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced on November 5 that its Division of Clearing and Risk has issued a no-action letter addressing whether derivatives clearing organizations may use trust companies to conduct daily settlements with clearing members.
The letter is CFTC Staff Letter No. 26-30. The CFTC has posted the full text of the letter on its website for clearing organizations and market participants.
A no-action letter is a staff-level position document through which CFTC staff set out their view on how a specific business arrangement relates to the Commission's existing rules.
