Texas Man Indicted for Sex Trafficking and Obstruction Offenses

The Justice Department announced on November 5 that a federal grand jury in the Northern District of Texas has returned an eight-count superseding indictment charging Felix Omoruyi, 39, of DeSoto, in Dallas County, Texas, with sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, sex trafficking of a minor, and related charges.
According to court documents, from December 2007 through November 2025, Omoruyi compelled five adult women to perform commercial sex acts in Texas and elsewhere for his financial benefit. After he was arrested on the initial indictment in November 2025, he also allegedly corruptly attempted to destroy evidence and obstruct and interfere with his prosecution by contacting victims and witnesses to influence their statements and testimony.
Omoruyi is charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; attempt to destroy, alter, or conceal a document or object; and obstruction and interference with the enforcement of the sex trafficking statute. If convicted of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, he faces a minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison, along with mandatory restitution.
The HSI New England Field Office is investigating the case with assistance from HSI Dallas and the Barnstable Police Department. Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Ryan R. Raybould for the Northern District of Texas, and Acting Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey A. Grimming of HSI New England announced the indictment.
An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
