San Gabriel Retires Parking Permit Machines November 6: Daily Overnight Permits Move Online at $4 a Night

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · California · GSM News

The City of San Gabriel, in Los Angeles County, California, announced that beginning Friday, November 6, 2026, it will discontinue the use of its parking permit machines as it transitions to a more convenient, paperless online system for daily overnight parking permits.

The machines being retired are at the San Gabriel Police Department (625 S Del Mar Avenue), the Community Services Department (250 S Mission Drive), and the Marshall Satellite Police Station (311 W Marshall Street). Residents can purchase daily overnight parking permits online at sangabriel.permitinfo.net for $4.00 per night. No printing or display is required: buyers simply enter their vehicle's license plate number, and parking enforcement officers verify permits electronically by plate. Permits can be purchased anytime, from home or on the go.

Annual overnight parking permits will continue to be issued in person at San Gabriel City Hall, and beginning in early 2027 the city plans to make annual permit applications and purchases available online as well. Residents who regularly use the machines are encouraged to become familiar with the online system before the November 6 transition; step-by-step instructions are at SanGabrielCity.com/Parking.
