Wisconsin Governor Evers Thanks Election Workers in Radio Address After November 3 General Election

Thursday, November 5, 2026 · States · GSM News

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers on November 5, following the November 3 General Election, delivered his weekly radio address thanking the state's local clerks, election administrators, poll workers, voter education groups, and postal service workers for their dedicated work to ensure Wisconsin once again had a fair, safe, and secure election. Last month, Evers declared October 20 "Election Hero Day" in conjunction with national observances.

Evers said he declared 2026 the Year of the Neighbor in Wisconsin to celebrate the neighbors who make the state a great place to call home, including the dedicated clerks, election administrators, poll workers, voter education groups, and postal workers who make sure everyone can cast a ballot and make their voices heard. Wisconsin's elections are fair, safe, and secure because of them, he said; they are friends and neighbors who often volunteer their time to protect the most basic and fundamental rights of Americans, working tirelessly to promote voter engagement, protect access to the ballot box, and make sure every eligible ballot is counted.

Election administration is never an easy responsibility, Evers said, and these workers have faced immense, unprecedented challenges over the past few years while never failing to display courage, resilience, and dedication. On behalf of the entire state, he thanked those who protect the integrity of Wisconsin's elections and provide safe, secure, and accessible voting experiences, calling them heroes to him, to their neighbors and communities, and to democracy, and encouraged Wisconsinites to thank them the next time they cast a ballot.
