Ohio Governor-elect Acton Launches Transition: John Haseley to Lead as Applications to Serve Open

Ohio Governor-elect Amy Acton formally launched her transition on November 5, naming John Haseley as transition director and opening Govelectacton.com to applications from Ohioans who want to serve in the new administration. Acton won the governorship in the November 3 election.
Haseley, a senior adviser to Acton's campaign, served as chief of staff in Governor Ted Strickland's office and in Congress, worked for U.S. Senator John Glenn and Governor Dick Celeste, and clerked for Sixth Circuit Judge Guy Cole. He co-founded the Remington Road Group consultancy, holds degrees from Ohio University and George Washington University law school, and lives in Athens.
Acton, a former Ohio health director who became a familiar statewide figure during the early COVID-19 pandemic, says staffing will be opened statewide through the application portal, with cabinet and agency nominations to follow in batches and the handover coordinated with Governor Mike DeWine's office.
The transition team says agency reviews will start with public health, education and economic development. An inauguration schedule will be published in the coming weeks.
