Del Mar's Fall Meet Opens Today: 13th Bing Crosby Season Runs 13 Race Days Through November 29

The fall racing meet at Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, San Diego County, California, opens Friday, November 6, 2026. Named the Bing Crosby Season for the entertainer who got the seaside track started in 1937, the meet was first run in 2014 and reaches its 13th edition this year.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club says the season offers 13 race days, held Fridays through Sundays plus Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, and runs through Sunday, November 29. First post is primarily 12:30 p.m.; Friday cards normally feature eight races, and Saturday and Sunday programs nine each.
The meet presents 15 stakes races worth $2.1 million in total, nine of them on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course. Closing weekend brings two Grade I races: the $300,000 Hollywood Derby for 3-year-olds on Saturday, November 28, and the $300,000 Matriarch Stakes for fillies and mares on Sunday, November 29. The Thanksgiving program starts at 11 a.m. and includes the Grade III, $120,000 Red Carpet Stakes; an 8 a.m. family fun run around the one-mile oval that morning benefits the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Saturday specials during the meet include College Day on November 7, the Uncorked: Derby Days Wine Fest on November 14 and a Taco & Beer Fest on November 21; the annual Toys for Tots Drive and Ride is set for November 22, and Free & Fun Sundays offer free admission and seating with discounted food and drinks.
