The City of Detroit announced that Council Member Mary Waters will host a community discussion on November 16 about the proposed Renaissance Center Community Benefits Package. Detroit, in Wayne County, Michigan, is the state's largest city.

According to the city notice, the community benefits package was recently voted on by the Neighborhood Advisory Council. The meeting will explain what is included in the package, and residents can ask questions, voice concerns and share their thoughts on the proposed benefits and their impact on neighborhoods.

The meeting runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 16 in person at 2751 Robert Bradby Drive, Detroit, MI 48207. Residents can also join virtually via Zoom; registration is required for online attendance. The city encourages residents to take part in this conversation about the future of Detroit.

The Renaissance Center is the landmark complex on Detroit's riverfront, and negotiations over its redevelopment and community benefits agreement have continued for months, with issues such as free parking among the sticking points.
