AUSTIN, Texas — Austin voters approved two parks and libraries bond propositions totaling $295 million in the November 3 election, the City of Austin confirmed in a November 4 news release announcing the unofficial results.

Proposition A authorizes up to $260 million for parks and recreation facility renovations and replacements, aquatic facilities, related infrastructure and parkland acquisition. Proposition B authorizes up to $35 million for public library improvements, including $20 million to renovate the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill and design and planning for a future Colony Park branch.

The city said planning starts immediately, with project allocations expected to be published on the Austin bond dashboard in early 2027 and bonds to be issued in phases beginning in 2027. It is Austin's first parks and libraries bond since 2018. Results remain unofficial until the canvass is complete.
