Missing Arizona Man Found Dead, Bringing Northern Arizona Storm Death Toll to Three

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office announced on November 6 that Benny Sutton, a 63-year-old man reported missing on November 1, has been found dead. He is the third person to die in the severe storms that swept northern Arizona over the weekend of October 31.
Sutton was located that day by a drone from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office lake patrol, his body found beside a waterway. He worked at the Castle Hot Springs resort, about 51 miles north of Phoenix, and was reported missing on November 1 after failing to show up for work. Later that day, searchers found his vehicle fully submerged in fast-moving floodwater in a wash about two miles downstream from the resort.
Two other men had previously died in Flagstaff in the same storm, including a 73-year-old man found dead in floodwater on November 2 after falling into the flooding.
