Encore Boston Harbor Workers Ratify New Contract, Ending 62-Day Strike

Friday, November 6, 2026 · Society · GSM News

EVERETT, Mass. — The strike at Encore Boston Harbor that lasted more than two months formally ended on November 6.

Teamsters Local 25 and UNITE HERE Local 26, which together represent more than 1,300 workers, announced that workers had overwhelmingly ratified a new five-and-a-half-year collective bargaining agreement, ending a strike that began in September and lasted 62 days. During the strike, workers in warehouse and other jobs walked the picket line. The new agreement includes substantial raises, improved benefits and better working conditions; specific terms have not been made public.

The strike took a clear toll on the casino's business: Massachusetts Gaming Commission figures show the property's gross gaming revenue in September was $46.06 million, down about 22 percent from a year earlier.
