DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit Tigers announced coaching staff and front office changes on November 6 as the club prepares for the 2027 season. Kyle Hudson, 39, was named first base and baserunning coach; Hudson previously served as the Boston Red Sox's third base coach, played for the Baltimore Orioles in 2011, and will also help coach the outfielders, succeeding the departing Anthony Sanders. The Tigers also named former major league catcher Martin Maldonado as quality coach.

In the front office, Jay Sartori returns to the Tigers as vice president of baseball operations; after leaving in August 2025, he served as the Atlantic Coast Conference's vice president of sports technology and innovation. In the medical and training departments, Scott Peters becomes director of medical services and Jeremiah Randall becomes head athletic trainer and physical therapist.
