Connelly Scores Late as Golden Knights Beat Red Wings 2-1 in Detroit

DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit Red Wings fell 2-1 at home to the Vegas Golden Knights at Little Caesars Arena on the night of November 5.
Neither team scored in the first two periods, the first time Vegas had been held scoreless through two periods since March 2025. In the third, Red Wings defenseman Anton Johansson opened the scoring on a rebound; 2 minutes 18 seconds later, Victor Olofsson, back from injury, set up Brayden Bowman, who scored through a screen to tie the game. With 1:42 left, rookie Trevor Connelly deked and scored low for the winner. Connelly has now scored in three straight road games and, with 7 goals this season, is tied for the rookie lead. Vegas goaltender Carter Hart stopped 25 of 26 shots.
Vegas improved to 11-5-2 with the win; Detroit fell to 7-7-3. The Golden Knights close their road trip at Buffalo on November 8.
