Xi Jinping Replies to Young Australian Students: Encourages Them to Carry China-Australia Friendship Forward

Chinese President Xi Jinping replied on October 28 to a letter from young Australian students, encouraging them to continue actively engaging in China-Australia friendship causes. The Foreign Ministry released the reply on November 6.
Xi said he was very pleased to learn that the students had recently come to China to take part in the China-Australia Youth (University Students) Rowing and Dragon Boat Friendship Tournament, where they competed alongside Chinese university students, engaged in in-depth exchanges, forged friendships that transcended borders, and created wonderful memories together.
Xi pointed out that China and Australia have a long history of friendly exchanges, and that the future of bilateral relations lies in the youth. He said he hopes the students will continue actively engaging in China-Australia friendship causes, become inheritors of China-Australia friendship and cooperation, and ensure that China-Australia friendship is passed down from generation to generation.
According to the Foreign Ministry, 110 young Australian students from the University of Sydney and other higher education institutions had jointly written to President Xi Jinping and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, introducing their experience of visiting and exchanging in China, expressing admiration for China's long history and culture as well as its scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and expressing their wish to pass on China-Australia friendship and enhance mutual understanding.
