Michigan Man Sentenced to 121 Months in Prison for Distributing Child Pornography

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan announced that a man from Ferndale, a city in Oakland County, Michigan, has been sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for distribution of child pornography. Brian Allen Rose, 48, was also ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution to nine victims whose images and videos he distributed and to register as a sex offender.
According to court records, Rose was trading child pornography with a subject of a separate FBI investigation. In February 2026, FBI agents executed a search warrant at Rose's home in Ferndale and located, on his devices, thousands of videos and images of child pornography, including material depicting infants and toddlers.
The records also show that Rose's devices contained multiple chats on encrypted messaging applications in which Rose and other men discussed their desire to sexually assault children and trade child pornography.
Rose was charged in March 2026 with possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography, and he pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography on July 8, 2026. Prosecutors noted that receipt and distribution of child pornography are federal crimes carrying mandatory minimum penalties of at least five years and maximum penalties of up to 20 years for first-time offenders.
U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. was joined in the announcement by Jennifer Runyan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Detroit Field Division. Gorgon said the defendant fed his appetites by abusing defenseless babies and deserved every day and every dollar of the sentence. Runyan said those who trade in child sexual abuse material are not passive observers but are fueling the continued exploitation of children, and that the FBI will relentlessly pursue those who victimize children.
The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zachary Zurek. (Source: U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan)
