Ferndale Man Sentenced to 121 Months for Distributing Child Pornography, Ordered to Pay $25,000 to Nine Victims

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan announced that Brian Allen Rose, 48, of Ferndale, Michigan, was sentenced on November 5 to 121 months in federal prison for distribution of child pornography. The court also ordered Rose to pay $25,000 in restitution to nine victims whose images and videos he distributed, and to register as a sex offender. U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. was joined in the announcement by Jennifer Runyan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Detroit Field Division.
According to court records, Rose was trading child pornography with a subject of a different FBI investigation. In February 2026, the FBI executed a search warrant at Rose's home in Ferndale. On Rose's devices, FBI agents located thousands of videos and images of child pornography, including material depicting infants and toddlers. Rose's devices also contained multiple chats on encrypted messaging applications where Rose and other men discussed their desire to sexually assault children and trade child pornography.
Rose was charged in March 2026 with possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography on July 8, 2026. Receipt and distribution of child pornography are federal crimes carrying mandatory minimum penalties of at least five years and maximum penalties of up to 20 years for first-time offenders.
U.S. Attorney Gorgon said the defendant fed his appetites by abusing defenseless babies and deserves every day and every dollar of the sentence. FBI Detroit Special Agent in Charge Runyan said those who trade in child sexual abuse material are not passive observers but are fueling the continued exploitation of children, and that the FBI will relentlessly pursue those who victimize children.
