Del Mar Issues Coastal Flood Advisory: Tides Expected to Peak at 7.4 to 7.6 Feet Sunday and Monday

The City of Del Mar, in San Diego County, California, is reminding beachfront property owners that a coastal flood advisory remains in effect through noon on Tuesday, November 10, and that streamlined permitting is in place for installing shoreline protection and repairing storm-damaged property.
According to a National Weather Service notice, minor to moderate coastal flooding is expected in San Diego and Orange counties as high tides coincide with a surf increase on Monday. On Sunday, November 8, and Monday, November 9, the highest tides are predicted to peak at 7.4 to 7.6 feet, which is 1.3 to 1.6 feet above astronomical tide predictions.
A letter issued by City Manager Ashley Jones also speaks to the city's berm-building on the beach and to pressing state and federal agencies to act on removing the sand accumulation from the San Dieguito Lagoon inlet, which presents a flood risk.
