Third Suspect in Dubai Triple Murder Arrested in Thailand: Chinese National Wan Chuanxin, 29, Caught in Nong Khai

NONG KHAI, Thailand - Thailand's Immigration Bureau announced on November 4 that Wan Chuanxin, a 29-year-old Chinese national, was arrested on October 6 in Phon Phisai district, Nong Khai province, in northeastern Thailand. Thai police say Wan is suspected of taking part in the June kidnapping and killing of three people in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and that the UAE has issued an arrest warrant for him. Officers searching his bag at the arrest found about five kilograms of etomidate, a substance listed as a Category 2 psychotropic drug in Thailand.
The Dubai case dates to June 2026. According to Thai police, a Turkish businessman, his Chinese girlfriend and a Bangladeshi driver were abducted from a luxury villa in Dubai by a seven-person gang, and the three victims' bodies were later found buried in the Sweihan desert area southeast of Dubai. The motive has not been established.
On October 20, Thai police arrested two other Chinese men in the same case at two luxury condominiums in central Bangkok - a 30-year-old surnamed Chen and a 28-year-old surnamed Yang - both of whom were on Interpol's Red Notice list. The Immigration Bureau said Wan had been moving among Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand to evade capture, and was seized on October 6 by Nong Khai immigration police and Company 2107 of the Surasak Montri Task Force as he crossed illegally from Laos into Nong Khai by long-tail boat.
Thailand has initially charged Wan with illegal entry and possession of a Category 2 psychotropic substance. The Immigration Bureau said it is coordinating his transfer to the UAE, where he would face judicial proceedings over the Dubai killings. Immigration Commissioner Pol. Lt. Gen. Noppasin Poonsawat was among the officials who presented the case on November 4. The allegations above are as stated by police and remain subject to judicial determination.
