Maryland Twin Brothers Sentenced to Six Months Each for Tax Evasion

Friday, November 6, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on November 6 that Maryland twin brothers Dennis March and Greg March, both 55, of Berlin in Worcester County, Maryland, were sentenced in federal court in Baltimore to six months in prison each for tax evasion.

Judge Deborah K. Chasanow also sentenced each brother to three years of supervised release, with a special condition of 12 months of home detention as part of that term, and ordered each to pay restitution of nearly $1.8 million.

According to the Justice Department, the brothers each pleaded guilty on June 16 of this year to one count of tax evasion. From 2017 until April 2023, they willfully evaded the taxes they owed on their business and personal income, concealing income on returns for tax years 2017 through 2022. Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, announced the guilty pleas with Kareem Carter, Special Agent in Charge of IRS Criminal Investigation's Washington, D.C. Field Office; the prosecution is part of the administration's task force to eliminate fraud. At the time of their pleas, each brother faced up to five years in federal prison.
