Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Launches in San Bernardino With $150,000 Goal; Angel Tree Registration Open

The Salvation Army's 2026 Red Kettle campaign in San Bernardino County is under way. The kickoff dinner was held on October 20 at the Bear Springs Event Center in Highland, San Bernardino County, California, with Assemblymember James Ramos as keynote speaker; this year's campaign theme is 'Transforming Lives.'
The Salvation Army has set this year's local goal at $150,000, after last year's Red Kettle campaign raised $136,921 in the county. Kettle donations fund the organization's year-round food, shelter and family-assistance programs across San Bernardino County, serving communities including San Bernardino, Redlands, Highland, Rialto, Loma Linda, Colton and Yucaipa.
Running alongside the kettles is the Angel Tree program: families with children aged 12 and under have been able to register at saangeltree.org since October 1, and donors adopt a child's wishes and provide gifts before Christmas. The Salvation Army notes that the Red Kettle tradition began in San Francisco in 1891 and remains its signature community fundraiser, with volunteer bell ringers outside stores through Christmas Eve.
