Ford Recalls Over 11,000 2026 Ranger Pickups for Rearview Camera Failures

Ford Motor Company is recalling 11,405 model year 2026 Ranger pickup trucks because their rearview cameras may fail to display an image, increasing the risk of a crash while backing up, according to recall records published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall is listed under NHTSA campaign number 26V605.
Rearview cameras are federally required equipment on new vehicles sold in the United States. When a driver shifts into reverse, the center display should show a live view behind the vehicle; a blank or missing image removes the driver's most direct tool for seeing children, pedestrians, and low obstacles in the rear blind zone.
Ford says the remedy is still under development and will be performed free of charge through its dealers once available. Owners can check whether their truck is included by entering its vehicle identification number (VIN) in the recall lookup on NHTSA's website, or by contacting Ford customer service.
It is the latest in a string of camera-related recalls for the automaker: in September, Ford recalled about 48,000 F-150 pickups for a similar rearview camera problem. Safety experts note that camera failures do not always trigger a dashboard warning, and they advise owners to have dealers check for open recalls at every routine service visit.
