Saturday, November 7, 2026 · City · GSM News

The Panorama City Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, will present "LA Made: A Celebration of Taiwanese Music" on Saturday, November 7, from 2 to 3 p.m., with Jessica Chen on violin and Henry Chen on cello performing as a duo.

The program showcases the beauty and diversity of music representing Taiwan and the Taiwanese diaspora. Selections include Taiwanese Mandopop and Taiwanese folk songs originally sung in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese Hokkien and Taiwanese aboriginal languages. The duo will also perform a medley from the DreamWorks TV show Abominable and the Invisible City, written by Los Angeles-based Taiwanese-American composer George Shaw and representative of the city's vibrant Taiwanese-American community.

LA Made is the library's free cultural series; its eleventh season runs from July 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027, with music, dance, theater and conversations at branches across the city. This program is made possible by the LA Made Fund.
