[Video] Path of Exile 2 Full Release Set for December 11: Free to Play, With Acts 5 and 6 Completing the Campaign

AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Developer Grinding Gear Games used its ExileCon 2026 keynote in Auckland to lay out the full contents of Path of Exile 2 version 1.0: the action role-playing game will leave Early Access and fully release on December 11 (Pacific time), going free to play the same day on PC and Mac (via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the standalone client), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Early Access had required a supporter pack, starting at $29.99.
Version 1.0 completes the main campaign with Acts 5 and 6, closing out the six-act story with 24 new areas, 18 new unique bosses and more than 20 special encounters. Two new classes join the roster, the Shadow and the Duelist, with the Duelist's two Ascendancy classes named Knight and Master-at-Arms; game director Jonathan Rogers confirmed that 10 of the 12 planned classes will be in at launch, with the remaining two to follow in later updates. The release also adds more than 40 new Unique items, revamps over 70 existing ones, and brings sweeping changes to the endgame.
Launching alongside 1.0 is the new challenge league Conquerors of Wraeclast, which layers a strategy element onto the action RPG as players raise armies and storm castles (pictured). The original Path of Exile also gets a new league, Covens of Umbra, on November 13 (Pacific time), with both games supported in parallel. Path of Exile 2 entered paid Early Access in December 2024 and has been updated continuously since; version 1.0 is its first full release.
