Eastbound SR-91 Faces Two Straight 55-Hour Lane Closures: Culvert Replacement in Corona

Caltrans advises that eastbound State Route 91 in the City of Corona, Riverside County, California, will see two consecutive 55-hour lane closures between State Route 241 and Green River Road: the first from 10 p.m. on Friday, November 6, to 5 a.m. on Monday, November 9, and the second from 10 p.m. on Friday, November 13, to 5 a.m. on Monday, November 16. The work takes place just west of Green River Road.
Three lanes will remain open to eastbound traffic during the closures, but the northbound SR-241 to eastbound SR-91 connector, the eastbound Gypsum Canyon Road on-ramps and the eastbound Green River Road off-ramp will be fully closed. Caltrans asks drivers to seek alternate routes, follow detour signage and slow down near the work zone, where equipment and vehicles will be moving material in and out.
The closures support a $6 million project to demolish, excavate and replace 82-foot-long segments of the existing culvert while improving wildlife crossing linkage. Work began in fall 2025 and is expected to be completed by fall 2027; the closures are weather and material dependent and may be changed or canceled. (Source: Caltrans)
