Red Cross Flood Relief Continues Across San Juan County: 1,900 Shelter Stays, 300 Meals a Day to Shiprock

The American Red Cross says its relief operations continue across San Juan County, New Mexico, and surrounding communities after historic flooding, providing shelter, meals, emergency supplies and recovery assistance to residents. Rising waters along the San Juan River and other waterways caused widespread damage.
The Red Cross continues to operate an emergency shelter at McGee Park and the San Juan County Fairgrounds, 17 County Road 5500 in Farmington. Since the flooding began, the Red Cross and its partners have provided more than 1,900 overnight shelter stays, with more than 190 people housed overnight as of November 3.
On meals, the organization is delivering approximately 300 meals per day to Shiprock while working alongside local, tribal and state emergency management agencies.
Residents across northwestern New Mexico are dealing with damaged homes, debris removal and infrastructure repairs. The Red Cross of Arizona and New Mexico also joined KOAT for a telethon on November 5 to raise funds for emergency shelter, hot meals, diapers, medical supplies and more for flood-affected families.
