Fort Worth Texas Temple Open for Free Public Tours from Nov. 5 through Nov. 21

BURLESON, Texas — The newly built Fort Worth Texas Temple opened for free public tours starting Thursday, November 5, running through November 21 (closed Sundays), no reservations required, the Cleburne Times-Review reported. The temple, at 1851 Greenridge Drive in Burleson, belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. By church custom, a new temple opens to the public before it is formally dedicated for religious use, letting visitors walk through a building normally not open to the public. Burleson lies south of Fort Worth in Johnson County; the temple is named for Fort Worth and serves church members across the Fort Worth area. Hood County Express included the opening among its top local stories on November 7, a sign of North Texas interest in the new temple. After November 21, the temple will shift to formal religious use. Johnson County's calendar is busy this weekend, with the Granbury Grand Prix and Tarleton State football also on, and the open house gives residents and visitors another destination.
