Jalen Johnson Scores 30 in Return as Hawks Rally From 17 Down to Beat Nets 124-121

Sunday, November 8, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Update: Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson returned on Saturday night, November 7, after missing three straight games with a sprained left ankle - the third of them the November 6 game against the Washington Wizards - and scored 30 points as the Hawks beat the Brooklyn Nets 124-121 at State Farm Arena for their fourth straight win.

Atlanta trailed for most of the night and fell behind by as many as 17 points in the first quarter. Johnson shot 11-for-17 from the field and 8-for-10 at the free-throw line, missed all five of his 3-point attempts, and added seven rebounds and six assists, scoring 12 of his points in the fourth quarter. Nickeil Alexander-Walker sank two free throws with 1:26 remaining to give Atlanta its first lead at 115-114, and Johnson raced past Julius Randle for a floater and a free throw with 39 seconds left to help secure the victory.

Alexander-Walker and Aaron Wiggins added 20 points each for Atlanta. Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn with 25 points and Julius Randle had 19, as the Nets were denied back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Johnson sprained the ankle on October 31 in a loss at New Orleans; the Hawks went 3-0 without him. He is averaging 18.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.9 assists this season. Atlanta hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.
